Ajax (B&H) Concord Vibraphone - 1950’s Stunning Condition - 3 Octave - Collapsible.
This beautiful Ajax Vibraphone from the late 1950’s Scale F to F Three Octave.
Its dark in sound almost haunting lovely texture. Damping mechanism works well, a little fragile with only 2 long rods holding the pedal to the dampener. Motor speed is adjustable via three wood spools that the belt can go over (there isn't much difference in speeds).
Is a single speed motor with a simple on and off button. Rubber Belt has been added as the original had deteriorated over time (can have the 4 spare). Motor has been cleaned and has a standard 3 pin plug with a few meters of cable.
Set collapses down into sections, Bars, the frame together with legs, pedal and an upright bar and the 2 sets of resonators.
The set has been sat in my home studio for a while and doesn't get the love it deserves.
This item is collection only from Dudley UK please email in to discuss before purchasing. Due to size and how fragile this is.
Best if the buyer has knowledge of how to set up and pack down the set.
